Nova is an AI voice assistant. Your voice and text input is processed by OpenAI to generate responses. We do not sell your data.
What We Collect
- Conversation content — the messages you send to Nova and the replies it generates, held in server memory for the duration of your session.
- Long-term memory facts — if you ask Nova to remember something, that fact is stored in a file on our server (e.g. "user prefers morning meetings"). You can ask Nova to forget any fact at any time.
- Server logs — standard web server logs including IP address, timestamp, and route accessed. Retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
- Google account data — if you connect Google Calendar or Gmail, Nova accesses calendar events and emails on your behalf using OAuth. We do not store this data beyond what is needed to fulfill your request.
What We Do Not Collect
- We do not record or store raw audio.
- We do not collect your name or email address (unless you provide it in conversation).
- We do not use cookies or tracking pixels.
- We do not build advertising profiles.
Third-Party AI Processing
Your conversation text is sent to OpenAI (GPT-4o for responses, TTS-1 for audio) to generate replies. OpenAI processes this data under their own Privacy Policy. By using Nova you acknowledge that your input is shared with OpenAI for processing.
OpenAI's API usage policy states they do not use API data to train their models by default.
How We Use Your Data
- To operate Nova and generate responses to your requests.
- To maintain conversation context within your session.
- To fulfill integrations you have authorized (Google Calendar, Gmail).
- To monitor for abuse and maintain rate limits.
Data Storage & Security
Nova runs on an AWS EC2 server in the US (us-east-1). Conversation history is stored in server memory and lost when the server restarts. Long-term memory facts are stored in a JSON file on the same server. All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
Your Rights
You can ask Nova to forget any remembered fact at any time ("Nova, forget that I prefer morning meetings"). To request deletion of server logs or any other data we hold, email freeanimalllc@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Nova is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
